Correcting Vision With Contact Lenses
There have been many attempts to use small hard contact lenses to improve vision for the patients with Keratoconus. Recently, there has been a trend toward the use of larger diameter hard lenses. Whether it be a small or large diameter hard contact lens, both involve an adaptation period of up to 2 weeks before the patient is comfortable.

In fact, during 2010 Dr. Iacobbo published a paper for fitting scleral lenses for patients who had secondary disease resulting from distortion of their corneas due to chemotherapy and radiation. Later Dr. Iacobbo was invited to share his techniques in Las Vegas at the Global International Contact Lens Symposium.
